Question by sulla_thegod: Do your parents or a parent go into a rage when they are angry?
Do your parent or a parent go into a rage when they are angry. Does the rage scare you. Do you get hit when the parent is in the rage do your friends get scared or avoid your parent(s) because of the rages?

Best answer:

Answer by Debbie
Are these your parents who go into a rage? If so, they need to seek professional help and anger management to get their temper under control. They’re hitting you? That is abuse and the child should be removed from the home and stay with more stable and loving family members. No one deserves to be in that situation and children deserve to be in loving, nurturing environment.

Question by Angrygirl5: How do I find an anger management class in my area?
I have a bad temper. Do they have anger management classes or support groups? Or do I have to see a therapist? How do I go about finding an anger management class? Anyone know of any web sites?
Just so everyone know, I didn’t do anything illegal, I am not on probation, and I have not been ordered by a court to take a class. I just want to stop lashing out (verbally) at work and stop letting little things set me off.

I think that students should have to take an anger management class. They should be taught how to treat their friends, girlfriends, and other people around them who treat them well and learn the repercussions of damaging their relationships.
I have known so many people who get angry when they don’t get their way, who AREN’T EVEN AWARE of how selfish they’re being.

The answer to your question in bold is NO.

What retarded place do you live at? Why do these men have girlfriends at all? And why do you think an anger management class will affect a retard in the postitive way you think it would?

Seriously, where are you from? Then I’ll know never to visit such a ‘hole.

Learning Anger Management Skills Can Dramatically Improve Your Life!

Anger management involves a system of psychological therapeutic techniques and exercises by which one with excessive anger can reduce the triggers, degrees, and effects of an angered emotional state. Anger management will help you break out of the anger trance, stop it ruining your relationships, and damaging your health.

Anger management is not about stopping you from expressing your anger entirely. Anger management, then, is the process of learning how to “calm down” and diffuse the negative emotion of anger before it gets to a destructive level.

Stress

Stress has been found to have a direct correlation to unmanaged anger and aggression. In fact, trying to suppress or deny your anger can lead to a host of physical complaints, such as headaches, depression, stress, and sleeping or eating difficulties. Anger and stress are highly correlated and the effects of stress on the body are well documented.

Health

Anger that’s out of control can be destructive, leading to problems in your relationships, at work, in your enjoyment of life and with your health. If your level of anger is high or you tend to express anger in an unhealthy way, make plans to deal with your anger. Your health may improve, you’ll feel better about yourself, and strained relationships may heal when you control your anger.

Techniques

By employing various mental techniques, anger management classes attempt to help you see differently the situations that have caused you anger and to change your thinking processes. A common skill used in most anger management programs is learning assertive communication techniques. Typical anger management techniques are the use of deep breathing and meditation as a means of relaxation.

We see that, with enough will power, we can climb large mountains, so we need to think that anger is just a mountain that we can climb to the top of with simple anger management techniques.

Counseling

An individual who exhibits behaviors that can lead to harm of another or property damage needs psychological services from a professional trained in anger management. Talk to your health care provider about resources, such as counseling or anger management classes. Getting some anger management counseling is a great idea if you do not know how to control your anger.

Conclusion

Identify and promote effective anger management methods and techniques. Luckily you CAN learn anger management skills to apply to your family and career lives, and you can improve. Being proactive with anger management will help to ensure it remains a healthy emotion that protects you from unnecessary hurt or threat.

Take a Free Anger Management Test and How to Understand and Manage Your Anger

We have all had the feeling of being angry at some time in our lives. This anger can range anywhere from being mildly irritated to experiencing out of control rage. When your anger has control of you, it can leave you feeling helpless and out of control. When you understand the components of anger, though, you can begin to get a handle on this powerful emotion.

An Explanation of Anger

Like love, happiness and sadness, anger is an emotion. It can be experienced in varying degrees from slightly irritating to uncontrollable fury. When a person experiences anger, just as with other emotions, they experience changes in the body. These changes, biological and physiological in nature, include increased heart rate, increased adrenaline and increased blood pressure. Some people may become flushed, short of breath and even dizzy.

You can become angry at a situation, an event or a person. It is a natural response to threats and a natural response to anger is aggression. This is a primal tendency, but necessary for survival. The problem comes in how some people express their anger. When you are unable to express your anger in a constructive manner, it can create a lot of problems.

Ways that we Express Anger

Typically, the knee jerk reaction to anger is aggression. Many people’s first instinct is to lash out at the offending person or situation. This stems from the basic “fight or flight” instincts that we share will all animals. Sometimes, though, lashing out is counterproductive to what you wish to accomplish. There are three basic steps in which anger should be handled: express, suppress and calm. It is the expressing part that gets some people into trouble. While anger should be expressed, some folks take it to another level with severe aggression as opposed to controlled assertion. That is where the situation spirals out of control and the suppression and calming part go right out the window. That is when the destruction begins.

Anger Management – 12 Types Of Anger Exposed

Anger is of different types, and can be classified into categories. Recognizing the classification of your anger will help you deal with it better in the long run.

1. Behavioral Anger: When a person experiences behavioral anger, he or she usually confronts the subject that angers them, which is usually another person. Physical harm may follow verbal rudeness. Such are the characteristics of behavioral anger.
2. Chronic Anger: A person that suffers from chronic anger does not always have a rational explanation of why he is angry all the time. Such people hate the world that they live in, hate themselves, hate everybody else and generally fly into tempers at the slightest motivation.
3. Constructive Anger: A person who deals with his anger by canalizing the anger into a constructive path such as self improvement is said to have constructive anger. This is often a result of self help and anger management courses.
4. Deliberate Anger: When a person deliberately poses as he has anger, often as a ploy to control subordinates, this type is called deliberate anger. It is usually a fake enacting of anger, but could escalate into other forms of anger occasionally. Deliberate anger also leaves quickly, especially when confronted.

]]>

5. Judgmental Anger: people suffering from this form of anger usually put other people down in front of gatherings, to try and make themselves look superior.
6. Overwhelming anger: As the name suggests, this form of anger exists when the emotion has really got to the root of a person. People experiencing overwhelming anger just cannot stand the situation they are in, and often find destructive means of relieving themselves by self hurt or by hurting other people physically.
7. Paranoid Anger: The paranoid form of anger is totally without just cause. People often work themselves into a frenzy imagining that someone were against them. This is called paranoid anger.
8. Passive Anger: This is a somewhat controlled form of anger where the person experiencing it does not directly show his anger. Instead he resorts to mocking the person who angers him, in a sarcastic manner.
9. Retaliatory Anger: This happens as a result of another person’s anger towards you. When you retaliate in self defense in an angry manner, this is called retaliatory anger.
10. Self Inflicted Anger: Here, a person who is angry with himself punishes himself by inflicting pain upon his own body. This is a common phenomenon with drug addicts.
11. Verbal Anger: Here, the only damage that is done is verbal abuse to other people. This could often be the beginning of other forms of anger.
12. Volatile Anger: This could range from mild anger to an absolute fury, and leaves just as suddenly as it comes. The intensity and the time depends on how well it is controlled by the individual.
